Sunscreen Lotion Recipe

Before heading to your island getaway this weekend, don’t forget to stash a sunblock! Phase A

Silsoft SF 1540 (cyclopentasiloxane and PEG/               3.83
PPG 20/15 dimethicone)

Velvesil 125 (cyclopentasiloxane and                          4.31

Silsoft SF 1202 (cyclopentasiloxane)                          15.31

Silsoft SF 034 (organosilicone)                                   5.74

Silsoft SF 1555 (bis-phenylpropyl dimethicone)              4.31

Phase B

Hydrophobic and micronized titanium dioxide 80%         9.57

Phase C

Propylene glycol                                                        1.91

Sodium chloride                                                         0.57

Quaternium-15                                                          0.1

Distilled water                                                          54.35

Fragrance                                                                  q.s.

Procedure:

Heat a double boiler until it reaches to 65°C. Mix all the ingredients of phase A and beat them on moderate speed on the boiler. Add titanium dioxide intermittently until it is finely incorporated in the mixture. Heat another boiler until it also reaches to 65°C. Then beat in moderate speed all the ingredients of phase C. Combine slowly mixture of phase C to that of phase A-B, then beat moderately for 30°C. Cool then beat the mixture at intervals until it homogenizes. Pour in sterilized plastic tubes.
